Personality: This mare is extremely strong and hard-headed. Her entire personality is hard-headed and she lets everyone know it. She's a brave mare who doesn't mind taking risks in anything she does. This will make her an amazing eventer, but also a dangerous one. We'll need to keep an eye on her to ensure her safety in future events. When she's not working, she's usually showing off her gorgeous movements in the field - usually strutting around and tossing her head like a stallion in heat. It was early morning before Kyle had turned back into the driveway of Dapple Wood Stables. Behind his truck he pulled a quiet horse trailer, which was covered with morning fog. Gary heard the truck pull up and quickly but quietly, as to not wake Jordan, left the warmth of his bed. He put his shoes on sloppily and practically sprinted to the door. He was breathing hard. Finanical problems in the past couple of months had caused the couple to have to sell their most-prized, and most successful Nordanner. It had been their first Nordanner and immediately there was a strong pull between himself and the mare.
Gary took a deep breath and opened the door. The trailer was waiting and Kyle was staring up at him. "She's here," he whispered, motioning for him to come let her out. He walked to the trailer's door in a trance-like state, took another deep breath, and began to lower the door to the ground. Inside, steam seemed to pour from the horse, as did power and elegance. Gary felt his throat close up as the mare peeked behind her shoulder at him knowingly.
"Eowyn,"
He approached her cautiously and took the leadrope. She snuffled his hand and perked her ears in recognition. His eyes watered and he led her out of the trailer. She reached the ground and stopped, taking a huge breath and letting puffs of condensation emit into the air. She whinnied loudly, announcing her return, and her offspring inside the barn began to answer, calling out to her. Eowyn's ears flicked and she shoved her head into Gary's chest. He pet her like that for a while and then released her into her old paddock.
For a moment she took it all in, and then she erupted with the fiery soul of the Nordanner breed and claimed the paddock as her own, digging up dirt with her sharp hooves and pounding the earth in a dominant way. She was the returning heroine and she knew it.
"Welcome home, girl," Gary whispered.
